Yard Worker

Responsibilities:

Construction and building product knowledge is a definite asset. However, we will train the right individual for the job. The perfect candidate needs to be a strong and healthy individual; this is a physically demanding position working out in the elements of the weather all day long.  The yard worker is responsible for general duties in the yard including loading/unloading of company delivery/customer vehicles as well as maintaining the inventory in the yard/warehouse in a safe and respectful manner. Must have the ability to provide a high standard of customer service and contribute to a work environment in a positive and safe manner that fosters pride in being part of a winning team. The candidate will also be expected to train in various other departments of the business as required.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of building supplies along with experience in construction is an asset. Must be physically fit and able to aid in all deliveries of building supply materials.
• Must provide a current drivers abstract
• Assist with the daily upkeep of the yard including organizing stock, cleaning and maintaining pallets/stock
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers
• Forklift experience is an asset but not a requirement as training is available
• Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, time management and strong organizational skills
• Great customer service skills are absolutely a must!
