The Northwest Catholic District School Board is a system committed to Catholic Education. The Board serves the communities of Dryden, Fort Frances, Sioux Lookout, Atikokan and Stratton in Northwestern Ontario. The Board operates five elementary schools, serving a total of approximately 1300  students.

The Northwest Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Autism and Positive Behaviour Support Lead, located in either the Fort Frances or Dryden Board Office, commencing as soon as possible.

Duties:

As a member of the Administrative Team and reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the incumbent will take a lead role in coordinating and supporting the efforts of the school Multi-Disciplinary Teams by:

Implementing Policy/Program Memorandum Number 140;
Incorporating methods of applied behaviour analysis into programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder;
Providing consultation, training and resources to school Mutli-Disciplinary Teams;
Providing ongoing system wide professional development;
Providing assessment at the school level for individual students;
Ensuring appropriate supports and resources are in place;
Coordinating and supervising school based behaviour support workers in conjunction with the school Principal;
Representing the Board with community partners and the Ministry.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a post secondary degree or diploma in a related field;
Post-graduate studies or equivalent field experience in Behavioural Science, Education or Psychology;
Board certified Behaviour Analyst (or working towards);
Extensive knowledge and experience working with professionals and students with special education needs, in particular Autism Spectrum Disorder;
Proven Behavioural Management experience with children/youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder;
Competencies in the development, delivery and evaluation of training programs and strategies.
Salary/Benefits:

$87,011 to $93,879 (dependent upon experience and qualifications);
We also offer a comprehensive and generous benefit package including vacation, personal leave and enrollment into the OMERS Pension Plan.
