Temporary Contract Supervisor
Reporting to the Director of Operations and Barrickā€™s Human Resources Manager, the Contract Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between PRDC contract staff and the Williams Mine. The Contract Supervisor is responsible for overseeing contract personnel while onsite, ensuring compliance with company policies and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

ā€¢ Set performance goals and deadlines that align with company objectives, ensuring clear communication of expectations to employees.
ā€¢ Organize and oversee workflow to ensure employees understand their responsibilities and assigned tasks.
ā€¢ Monitor productivity, provide constructive feedback, and implement coaching strategies to enhance performance.
ā€¢ Facilitate communication between upper management and employees, ensuring seamless information flow.
ā€¢ Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for rewards, promotions, and professional development.
ā€¢ Oversee contractor onboarding, including orientation and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
ā€¢ Ensure compliance with legal and company policies, taking disciplinary action as needed.
ā€¢ Coordinate with contract personnel and their supervisors to ensure accurate timesheet submissions through our HR Bamboo program for time and leave requests.
ā€¢ Assist in conducting interviews for new hires.
ā€¢ Participate in workplace investigations and report findings to the PRDC General Manager.
ā€¢ Assist in completing Corrective Action Forms and addressing disciplinary concerns effectively.
ā€¢ Maintain open communication with contract personnel, addressing concerns through appropriate channels.
ā€¢ Ensure training records are up to date and personnel documentation is maintained.
ā€¢ Manage performance, absenteeism, grievances, quality control, overtime, training, and development while ensuring compliance with the Employment Standards Act.
ā€¢ Foster effective communication between contract personnel and Williams Mine employees.
ā€¢ Attend daily meetings with the General Foreman, Superintendent, and Management to align on priorities, relaying maintenance requirements to the maintenance department.
ā€¢ Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies.
ā€¢ Promote accident prevention, report and investigate hazards, and maintain a safe work environment.
ā€¢ Coordinate with frontline supervisors in work areas, conduct workplace visits, perform physical inspections, and ensure work meets company standards.
ā€¢ Maintain a daily log of workplace visits and any arising issues for follow-up and resolution.

Qualifications:

ā€¢ Post-secondary education in management or a related discipline is an asset.
ā€¢ Proven experience as a supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
ā€¢ Previous experience in the mining industry is advantageous.

ā€¢ Understanding of workplace safety, compliance requirements, and risk management strategies.
ā€¢ Ability to interpret and enforce company policies, industry regulations, and labor standards.
ā€¢ Proficiency in workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency.
ā€¢ Skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking to address operational and personnel issues effectively.
ā€¢ Competency in using MS Office applications and HR management software for reporting and administrative tasks.
