VOLUNTEER SERVICES ASSISTANT (23-R595)

Bargaining Unit: Non-Union
Status: Part Time (0.5 FTE)
Department: Volunteer Services
Site: St. Joseph’s Hospital/St. Joseph’s Heritage/Hogarth Riverview Manor
Shifts: Days
Rate of Pay: $24.57 – $30.72 per hour

Reporting to the Manager of Volunteers, Library & Research Services, the Volunteer Services Assistant will provide efficient administrative support to our Volunteer Services department. This position will play a vital role in ensuring our volunteers, clients, and staff receive the support they need to thrive. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a stimulating role within a supportive work environment. Collaborate with the Manager to tailor a flexible work schedule that caters to the requirements of Volunteer Services.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

– Post-secondary education and clerical/administrative experience required

Skills/Abilities:

– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– Excellent interpersonal and public relation skills
– Effective time management and organizational skills
– Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
– Willingness and ability to learn Better Impact (volunteer management software)
– Self directed with the ability to work independently, as well as within a team
– Excellent clerical skills
– Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
– Flexibility to work at various sites and travel between sites
– Regular attendance at work

Assets:

– Previous experience with volunteers or volunteering

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

– Will be required to travel to various work locations, providing own transportation
– May be required to work outside of regular working hours (evenings and weekends)
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
