Paawidigong First Nations Forum Inc. is committed and dedicated to providing culturally appropriate health and social services to the community members in our affiliated First Nations communities within the Treaty #3 Area.
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead Paawidigong First Nations Forum Inc. into the next phase of growth. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing operations and ensuring the organization’s mission and values are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and issues coupled with strong management and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization’s mission and objectives and ensure alignment between organizational goals and programs.
•
Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Directors and collaborate with the board on strategic decisions and policy development.
•
Oversee daily operations including program management, budgeting, and administrative functions.
•
Ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively.
•
Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization, manage budgets, oversee strategies, proposals, grant writing and financial reporting. Ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.
•
Build and maintain strong relationships with the communities we serve, stakeholders and partners. Represent the organization in public forums meetings and advocacy efforts.
•
Promote a positive organizational culture that values diversity and inclusion. Provide leadership and mentorship to staff. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Oversee hiring training and professional development.
Qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as but not limited to Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences.
•
Minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit management, with at least three years in a leadership role. Experience working with Indigenous Communities is highly desirable.
•
Deep understanding of Indigenous culture, histories and contemporary issues
•
Strong ability to inspire and motivate a team
•
Proven ability in financial management
•
Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
•
Experience in securing grants and proposal writing
•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the organization’s values
