POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:         Receptionist  – Contract (up to 7 months or longer)

REPORTS TO:              Clinic Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Receptionist performs administrative tasks, on a priority basis, that support the functions of the clinical staff and the Clinic Administrator, to ensure the Northern Neighbours Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic’s goal of high quality health services to all with a sense of warmth, pride and caring.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets and registers patients to the clinic in a professional friendly manner.
Enters all demographic and health card information accurately electronically.
Books appointments.
Takes care of assigned Nurse Practitioner follow up tasks such as notifying patients of appointments with specialists, and patient recalls to clinic.
Answers multi-line telephone system, books appointments, sends messages regarding patient’s related information.
Open/Sort/Route incoming mail.
Represent the Northern Neighbour’s Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic in a manner, which promotes the mission and values of the organization.
Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
Participates in professional and personal development of self.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND SKILLS

High School Diploma and/or related office administration course preferred.
Proficiency in computer applications: Windows. Microsoft Office programs, Email and Internet Research.
Demonstrated planning, organization, problem solving, written and oral communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
Capacity to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
