Permanent Full-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist

Santé Manitouwadge Health is now accepting applications for the position of a Permanent Full-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist.

Santé Manitouwadge Health is located in Manitouwadge, Ontario. It is the local Health Hub for our community by integrating the following services; acute care and LTC, Family Health Team, home nursing services (myCare), transportation (myRide), Clinic Management Services, Public Health Education, seniors programs and diabetes education. Manitouwadge is a vibrant community with many modern facilities such as a challenging 9-hole golf course, newer high school and hospital, curling, hockey, and an excellent downhill skiing facility. Our “step out your door” natural facilities provide the best fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobile/ATV trails in this area. Qualifications:

–  Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Ontario with the CMLTO or eligible for registration
– Ability to work in Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Chemistry, Specimen Procurement/Handling
– Ability to work effectively alone and with an interdisciplinary team
– Minimum one year clinical experience or training in a core lab preferred
– General hospital experience an asset

Duties:

– General laboratory duties in the following departments – Hematology, Chemistry, Transfusion Medicine, and Specimen Procurement/Handling
– Participate in on call duties
– Perform all work assignments safely and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures
-Participate in the Laboratory Quality Management Program

Compensation & Benefits:

– As per UNIFOR Paramedical Local 229 collective agreement
– Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

Other Incentives

-$1000 relocation expenses (receipts not required)
-$1500 following successful completion of probation
-$2500 following the completion of one year of employment
-$500/month accommodation allowance for three (3) months
