The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and servicing hospital areas and outer buildings by following procedures, using necessary cleaning supplies/equipment to complete tasks, and maintaining areas and equipment. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent organizational skills in order to efficiently complete tasks and maintain standards of cleanliness in the hospital.
– Grade 12 Secondary Diploma
– Valid Drivers’ License
– Previous experience in institutional cleaning
– Physically able to lift/move heavy objects as well as push/pull loaded carts and equipment
– Knowledge of proper safety procedures
– Willing and able to work days, evenings and weekends
– Certification in WHMIS
– Ability to adhere to standards of cleanliness to prevent spread of infection
– Reliable attendance record
– Ability to organize activities to ensure efficiency
