Marine Labourer/Mechanic

Job description
We are actively seeking employees for the 2024 boating season in the Lake of the Woods area.  Job description includes summarizing stored boats, minor maintenance and delivery of watercrafts to the customers/marinas. Employees assist with service calls. At the end of the season, the job requires pick up, winterizing and storage of boats. Prior knowledge marine and mechanical skills are of benefit, but for the right candidate we are willing to train.

Key responsibilities
Summarizing boats:

·       Connecting & charging battery, testing electronics

·       Performing minor maintenance as required (adding oil, changing starters, tune up etc.)

·       Pressure washing of boat, delivery to customer or marina.

Service calls:

·       Assist with troubleshooting and repair (i.e. changing bilge pumps, batteries).

Winterizing:

·       Pick up boat, check and change oils, if necessary, prepare for storage.

·       Shrink wrap boat and deliver to storage lot.

Assorted shop duties:

·       Assisting with inventory.

·       Cleaning shop.

·       Parts pickups.

Required & preferred qualifications:
Grade 12 graduate, reading and writing skills necessary.

Clean driver’s license required (truck use is provided).

Boating experience and boat license preferred.

Experience pulling, backing and parking trailers preferred.

Able to lift 50 lbs.

Able to troubleshoot.

Mechanical and tool experience preferred.

Compensation:
Starting salary $25
