Report’s To: Johnny K manager and assistant manager, ultimately the Director of Energy and Fuel
Job Summary:
We are seeking reliable and versatile individuals to serve as Cashier Clerks. This role combines
customer service and cash handling duties with basic maintenance work to ensure the cleanliness and
appearance of the store and surrounding property.
Key Responsibilities:
Cashier Duties:
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
• Confirm cash float start of each shift
• Balance cash drawer, debit/creit machine and float at the end of each shift
• Process payments (cash, credit/debit, checks, etc.)
• Process Indian Registry Numbers for Point of Sale tax relief for both goods and fuel
• Issue reciepts, refunds, and exchanges as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store
• Assist customers with inquiries and product location
• Check personal identification for age-restricted purchases (e.g. alcohol. Tabacco)
• Monitor fuel pumps and ensure safe dispensing of fuel
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety issues to the management
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Any other duties that may be assigned
Clerk/Stock Duties:
• Stock, face shelves and maintain merchandise displays
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management
• Receive and unload deliveries, verifying all items on the packing list are received
• Keep aisles, stockrooms, and displays clean and organized
Yardwork Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots and walkways
• Perform basic landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and watering plants
• Maintain appearance of signage and storefront
Cleaning Responsibilities:
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed
• Clean restrooms and maintain sanitation standards
• Empty trash bins and replace liners regularly
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces and common areas
• Perform light maintenance tasks as required
• Dust/clean shelves and product regularly and as needed
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail or cashier experience is an asset
• Good communication and customer service skills
Employment Conditions:
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Stand for extended periods
• Smart Serve Certified
Work Schedule:
TBD as work schedules will be drafted on a bi-weekly basis- Preference will be given to Band and
Community Members of Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg.
