Position Overview:
Under the direction of the MHN Manager, the Child Adolescent Mental Health Registered Nurse (CAMHRN) will work collaborative with all Health Services programs, to continually assess current program delivery, services, and recommend and participate in new strategies in order to facilitate changes that will enhance child/adolescent client mental health care. The CAMHRN reports to the MHN Manager and is responsible for providing specialized mental health services to children and adolescents who live with mental health concerns, and their families.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- This position requires an advanced degree in Nursing with additional training in child/adolescent mental health, crisis management and suicide prevention. The CAMHRN will have an understanding of specialized treatment and care which includes cognitive behavioral therapy, anxiety and depression management, and problem solving treatments. In addition, the CAMHRN must have education and experience in program development and evaluation
- One to two years’ work experience in a community based setting
- Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous children, their families and communities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary health services team
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Search
- Must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours as determined by the Mental Health Nursing Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle
Hours of Work:Â 32.5 hours per week
Salary Range: $35.65 To $46.51 Hourly
