Secondary Administrative Assistant (this position works 12 months/year)
Rate of Pay ranges from $24.43/hour to $28.34/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Principal or designate through the Head Administrative Assistant, ensures the efficient operation of the secondary school office as well as specific functions required by the school or Board Offices. Involvement with students, staff, parents and stakeholders occurs on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required. A valid Driver’s licence and the willingness and ability to travel for school board related business required. College diploma in a secretarial/office administration discipline preferred. Equivalent qualifications and/or expertise as determined by the Human Resources Manager may be considered. Demonstrated experience in a Windows environment and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite required. Willingness and ability to acquire skills in data base, accounting, banking and other related software applications is essential. The following attributes are necessary: excellent office skills; ability to deal with tact and sound judgement in oral and written communications with students, staff and the public; the ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimum supervision; and the ability to work independently in a team environment. Previous secretarial experience an asset and experience in an education environment will be preferred.
