Position Overview:

Reporting to the Treasurer/Deputy Clerk, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing tax and water billing, payroll and assisting with various accounting tasks. The Accounting Clerk must be a meticulous and detail-oriented individual with superior organizational, customer service and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the tax and water billing processes.
  • Payroll processing and related documentation.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documents.
  • Perform data entry and administrative duties as needed.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
  • Previous experience with payroll and/or municipal taxation is an asset
  • Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
