Ø  This position is in Kenora, Ontario and is designed to provide intensive services to a specialized population of female inclusive youth ages 12 to emerging adults.  Working within an out of home care setting, the successful candidate will offer trauma-responsive, culturally informed, and client centered interventions with a strong focus on advocacy, empowerment and systemic change.  The hours of work for this position will reflect the needs of the youth involved in the program which may occasionally include evenings and weekends.

Ø  Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree of Social Work (M.S.W.) or Honors Bachelor of Social Work (H.B.S.W.) PLUS two (2) years of direct experience in supporting high risk and equity deserving youth populations.  Also, registered in good standing with the OCSWSSW.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ø  Demonstrated experience supporting equity-deserving youth populations, including but not limited to sexually exploited youth, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, Indigenous and racialized youth, and youth facing systemic barriers such as poverty, housing instability, and limited access to services.

Ø   Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), and Ontario’s Anti-Human Trafficking Strategy is considered an asset. Familiarity with MCCSS priorities related to youth in transition, reconciliation with Indigenous communities, and equity-driven service delivery is strongly preferred.

Ø  Proven ability to provide trauma-responsive, culturally informed, and gender-inclusive support within a youth-centered care model.

Ø  Strong skills in case management, crisis response and intervention, systems navigation (including housing, legal, health, and child welfare systems), and community-based care rooted in youth outreach models.

Ø  Demonstrated knowledge of specialized/high-risk populations, such as sexually exploited youth, especially as it impacts self-identifying female inclusive young persons.

Ø  Experience in case management, systems navigation, crisis response, youth outreach models, and community-based care.

Ø  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ø  Understanding of challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA+, Indigenous, Black, racialized, and newcomer youth.

Ø  Familiarity with Indigenous frameworks, cultural safety principles, and community supports.

Ø  Strong knowledge of Intergenerational trauma, systemic oppression, and the experiences of equity-deserving populations.

Ø  Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Ø  Broad Record Police Check and Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

SALARY:          Range of $38.75 to $44.92 per hour that includes robust Pension Plan, Benefits (dental, life insurance, long term disability, hospital/medical insurance) and vacation benefits
