Neegaan Inabin Youth Finder – Summer Student

Position Overview:

Neegaan Inabin is a culturally appropriate holistic service supporting youth aging out of care and young adults formerly in care (up to their 26th birthday) from our 30 First Nations.  The Neegaan Inabin Youth Finder will reach out to eligible youth and young adults to connect with our services.  The Neegaan Inabin Youth Finder reports to the Direct Services Supervisor – Neegaan Inabin.

Qualifications Desired:

• Interest in working with children and youth.
• Knowledge of and lived experience with the Indigenous culture.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to speak Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
• Travel is a requirement.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No remote work available.
• No relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities and duties would include:

• Outreach services, calling eligible youth and speaking about our services.
• Distribution of pamphlets to First Nations/Band Representatives and eligible clients
• Travelling to communities/ participate in presentations.
• Attending community events such as children’s day
• Other duties as required.
