Job Description

Maintenance Worker III – Multi-Skill Electrician (23-0000887)
Bargaining Unit: IUOE- Hospital
Status: Full Time
Department: Plant Operations
Site: St. Joseph’s Hospital
Shifts: Days (On-call rotation, may include calls on nights/weekends)
Rate of Pay: $32.03 per hour

The Maintenance III – Electrician is responsible for maintaining the supply of power throughout the assigned St. Joseph’s Care Group sites working safely and in compliance with policies, procedures and applicable legislation.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
– Completion of a four- to five-year apprenticeship program is usually required.
– Community College training in electricity, electronics, and / or bio-medical technology.
– Valid Journeyman’s trade qualifications in the Province of Ontario.
– Related job experience.

Skills/Abilities:
– Proficient computer skills for accessing of information, updating preventative maintenance program and/or equipment troubleshooting
– Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
– Ability to think critically and identify risks
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
– Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
– Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Available for ‘On Call’ requests after normal working hours
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License
  • Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
