Shibogama First Nations Council is seeking a Temporary Palliative Care Coordinator to support families and community members facing life-limiting illness in our member communities: Kingfisher Lake, Wunnumin Lake, and Wapekeka.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, experienced, and culturally respectful healthcare professional who believes in holistic, community-centered care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and deliver palliative care services across communities
Work collaboratively with local nurses, PSWs, Elders, and families
Support symptom management and advance care planning
Provide caregiver education and mentorship to care teams
Liaise with external healthcare providers for client referrals and support
Promote culturally safe and holistic end-of-life care
Qualifications:

RN, RPN, or equivalent healthcare certification
Experience in palliative, hospice, or community care
Familiarity with Indigenous values and traditions
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Certification in palliative care (e.g., LEAP, CAPCE) is an asset
