Job Title: Medical Assistant / In-Room Clinical Scribe
Location: MDAC (1-820 Red River Road)
Job Type: Part-Time immediate start NEW position
Salary Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview
MDAC, a specialty diagnostic clinic, is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to work directly “in the room” alongside our physicians. In this dual clinical and clerical role, you will act as the doctor’s primary support system—handling patient intake, ensuring efficient room workflows, and performing real-time Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation (scribing) during patient encounters.

Primary Responsibilities

  • In-Room Medical Scribing: Escort patients into exam rooms to document patient histories, physical exams, and treatment instructions directly into the EMR in real-time.
  • Patient Intake & Vitals: Prep patients for their visits by verifying identities, taking accurate vital signs (BP, pulse, temp), and logging chief complaints.
  • Hands-On Clinical Assistance: Provide direct support during minor in-office procedures, including prepping sterile fields, handing tools to the physician.
  • Room & Workflow Management: Sanitize, organize, and restock exam rooms between patients to maintain a high-standard, rapid clinic flow.
  • Patient Discharge Support: Deliver post-visit summaries, coordinate follow-up appointments, and hand out directed educational materials to departing patients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma required; RN, RPN, Paramedic, Kinesiology PSW, or other health related field with direct patient experience in a clinical setting would be preferred.
  • Scribing Skills: Excellent comprehension of medical terminology, attention to detail with proofreading Artificial Intelligence (ie Tali AI or Heidi AI) scribed reports and faxing to referring providers.
  • Tech Literacy: Experience navigating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software (e.g.,TELUS PS Suite OSCAR, Accuro, or) is desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Empathetic patient-facing manner, strong multi-tasking abilities, and absolute adherence to clinic confidentiality policies and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) Ontario 2004.
