BTG Contracting is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Grapple Skidder Operator to join our team in the Thunder Bay area. We support forestry and logging operations throughout Northwestern Ontario and take pride in providing reliable, efficient work while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and respect on every job site.
This is a full-time position with benefits and a typical Monday-to-Friday schedule. Some day or night shift work may be required depending on operational needs.
The successful candidate will operate a grapple skidder safely and efficiently, complete daily equipment inspections, and perform routine maintenance to help keep machinery in good working condition. They will also work closely with the rest of the logging crew to meet production goals, follow site procedures, and assist with other duties as assigned.
This individual will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Operate grapple skidder in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform daily circle checks and tourine maintenance on equipment
- Meet production goals in a consistent manner
- Willingness to work day shift and night shift if required
- Other duties within logging operation as assigned
Salary starts at CA$38.00 per hour, based on experience.
Requirements:
- Grapple skidder experience preferred
- Logging industry experience preferred
- Valid G Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to commute/relocate to Thunder Bay
