Summary:

Our Thunder Bay location is hiring for Fire Assay Technicians to assist us in preparing samples for laboratory analysis. The schedule for this role will be 12 hour shifts 4 days on, 4 days off rotational days and nights. Schedules will be 8 PM – 8 AM or 8 AM – 8 PM.

The expected wage for this position is $20.00-$27.00/hr.

What you will be doing:

• Receiving WOs
• Perform analysis of samples.
• Maintain minor instrumentation in optimized and calibrated condition
• Troubleshoots instrumental problems and basic maintenance of instrumentation.
• Perform sample, reagent & calibration standard preparation.
• Verify and validate data
• Keep accurate and up to date records
• Train junior analysts
• Follow all SOPs and QC procedures.
• Meet quality assurance and turnaround time specifications.
• Other administrative/laboratory tasks as assigned

• Good communication
• Must be able to wear a respirator and work in hot conditions.
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Some lifting and carrying (up to 25kgs)
• Basic computer skills
• Willing to work overtime during peak season.
• All training will be provide for the right candidate
• Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE properly and follow all safety protocols
• Must be flexible to work day and night shifts including weekends on a 4 days on 4 days off rotation
