Labourer

Permanent Full Time Position

$21 to $25 per hour (dependent upon qualifications)

SunTrac Contracting & Rentals is located in Dryden, Ontario. We are an excavation and equipment rental company. We also provide aggregate supply and delivery, snow and ice maintenance services as well as demolition services.

Under the direction of the President/Operations Manager, the Labourer performs manual labour tasks including shoveling, raking, and digging, as a member of a team working on various job sites/contracts. The labourer will be required to handle and transport materials and light equipment as well as operate light equipment. Participation in relevant training and maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety protocols is required. This position requires a flexible work schedule (Monday to Saturday in summer and variable hours in winter).
A valid “G” licence is required and a valid “A” Restricted licence is an asset. Grade 12 education (or equivalent) is preferred. The incumbent must possess and maintain a clean driver’s abstract. The ability to lift and carry materials of a minimum of 50 pounds is required. Experience working around underground utilities and previous experience in a construction environment is an asset. The position also requires the ability to concentrate and remain aware of surroundings; the ability to follow written and verbal directions; the ability to work independently and in a team environment; strong communication skills; strong problem-solving skills; the ability to prioritize tasks and the ability to follow and possess knowledge of safety protocols as well as safe operating procedures.
