What You’ll Do
As our Marketing Assistant, you’ll work across teams to support the development and execution of marketing campaigns, both internal and client-facing. Your day-to-day will vary, but your main responsibilities will include:
Marketing & Communications
- Assist with drafting social media content, e-blasts, newsletters, traditional media and other copywriting needs
- Support the execution of digital marketing campaigns (email, paid ads, organic social)
- Conduct industry and competitor research to inform campaign strategies
- Help create and schedule content using tools like Meta Business Suite, or Hootsuite
- Monitor campaign performance and help generate basic reports (engagement, reach, KPIs)
Creative & Content
- Coordinate photo/video shoots, including scheduling, shot lists, and approvals
- Assist in maintaining and organize content libraries and marketing assets
Administrative & Coordination
- Maintain campaign calendars, task trackers, and project timelines
- Support client presentations and proposals with formatting, proofreading, and layout
- Help with planning and promotion for events, workshops, and conferences
Who You Are
- Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- A strong communicator — both written and verbal
- Social media savvy and curious about digital trends
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative and proactive, with a can-do attitude
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role (internships count!)
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X)
- Bonus: Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Mailchimp, and Google Analytics
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience working with First Nations communities or a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures
- Copywriting or design portfolio
- Interest in events, brand strategy, or creative production

Mini Assignment: Support a Campaign Launch
Scenario:
TAG Creative Strategy is preparing to launch a social media awareness campaign for a new initiative called “Voices of the Land” — a storytelling series that highlights Indigenous leaders, artists, and entrepreneurs across Canada. The campaign will run on Instagram and LinkedIn, with supporting content on a website and through an email newsletter.
You’ve been brought on as a Marketing Assistant to help the team with content planning, copywriting, and coordination.
Your Task: Submit a short proposal (1–2 pages) including the following:
1. Social Media Content Plan (Instagram or LinkedIn)
Draft 2 sample posts (caption + content idea) to promote the campaign.
2. Newsletter Content
Suggest a content for an email promoting the campaign to subscribers.
3. Organization & Collaboration
List 3 tools or methods you would use to stay organized and collaborate with a remote or hybrid team on a campaign like this Briefly explain why.
Bonus: Visual Concept (Optional)
If you’re visually inclined, attach a quick moodboard or sample post layout using Canva, Pinterest, or similar. This is totally optional!
