Position Overview:
Reporting to the Info Systems Supervisor, the Info Systems – Resources is responsible for providing support for existing child care software, to provide training as required in our communities and to interpret and analyze data. This position requires experience in data processing, knowledge of the Ministry standards for child welfare, effective written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work with all levels of staff. The work of Information Resource Workers and all of our staff is guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Review and provide input on agency policies and procedures
- Prepare reports as required
- Ensure that the Information Systems Supervisor is informed of issues which affect agency policies and/or procedures, Frontline and other computer programs
- Analyze data and provide interpretation, recommendations and forecasting of developing trends to the Information Systems Supervisor
- Establish and/or monitor systems to monitor, review and evaluate file compliance with agency polices and Ministry standards
- Be familiar with all Ministry standards and guidelines
- Prepare In-Year reports and other related reports as required
- Participate in in-service training and seminars, workshops and courses, as available
- Work with the SOR, TAY, DSO, RPAC, Interagency and Legal processes
- Prepare and Participate in all Ministry and Internal file reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Desired:

- Knowledge and understanding of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Knowledge and understanding of Licensing Requirements, Ontario Standards and Regulations
- Professional integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Accurate keyboarding skills; experience with Frontline and Excel, Microsoft Office is essential
- Ability to learn, apply and develop multi-step procedures for data input
- Knowledge and understanding of the cultural environment in which Tikinagan operates
- The ability to speak a First Nation language of the Nishnawbe-Aski Territory is a definite asset
- Demonstrate initiative, ability to provide input, recommendations and team building
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with many different staff within the agency.

- Ability to travel
- Must be able to pass a criminal reference check
