About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Reporting to the Manager ‑ Facilities & Biomedical Services, the Electrician is accountable for conducting planned and preventative electrical maintenance and troubleshooting/repairs while providing a safe and cost-effective environment.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Current certificate of qualification in Ontario as an Electrician (Construction/Maintenance) with a minimum of 5 years of recent experience
  • A Valid class G Provincial (ON) drivers license
  • Additionally, preference will be given to candidates who possess experience with, and knowledge of:
  • Electrical Maintenance in a health care facility
  • Building automation systems
  • Ordering parts and making recommendations for purchase of new equipment
  • Assisting with updates to electrical as built and single line diagrams
  • Heating and cooling principles as applied to a typical building environment
  • Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Diagnosing problems and effecting repairs to electrical equipment and systems
  • Testing of diesel back‑up generators and fire alarm/sprinkler systems
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • VFD (variable frequency drive) installation, programming, maintenance
  • Automatic door opening systems
  •  Parking gate systems
  • Security systems, including personal card scanning systems, camera surveillance systems,

Salary Range:  $36.670 to 38.160
