Temporary Maintenance Operator
The Township of White River is seeking a temporary part-time Maintenance Operator candidate to perform Parks and Recreation operation and maintenance, facility operation and maintenance at all municipal buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities include:
• Inspects, services, maintains, and otherwise performs maintenance and operational services at Township owned facilities.
• Perform maintenance, general caretaking, custodial and other facility operational duties to ensure safe operation Municipal Facilities.
• Perform Playground inspection and create work plan to repair deficiencies.
• Operates and maintains all department related hand and power equipment such as weed trimmer and lawn mowing equipment.
• Maintaining municipal infrastructure and equipment and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
• Valid class “G” driver’s license in good standing, Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
• Certification and/or previous work and technical experience in playgrounds, landscaping, refrigeration, construction, and janitorial duties considered as asset.
• Certification and/or previous experience in playgrounds and sports field
• Hold a current first Aid certificate, CPR, WHMIS/GHS Training, Fall arrest training, Chainsaw certification.
• Ability to operate equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to develop maintenance workplans, recognize maintenance problem areas and develop and implement corrective action plans and identify and implement work methods.
• Physically able to perform all activities required within this department (lifting, climbing, shoveling, raking, and working at heights.)
• Basic building maintenance skills including routine carpentry and plumbing.
• Capable of working in inclement weather and in a team setting.
