The ABA Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) instruction to children, youth, and adults. This role focuses on promoting social, behavioural, and life skill development through structured programming, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with families and interdisciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Instruction & Programming
Support learners during sessions using ABA evidence-based strategies to promote skill acquisition and behaviour development.
Plan, coordinate, and implement individualized and group programming.
Lead group and individual sessions focused on social, communication, and life skill development.
Facilitate Superior Life Skills-approved programs as assigned.
Explore and monitor participants’ evolving interests and developmental needs to inform programming adjustments.
Utilize Superior Life Skills resources to develop coordinated and effective instructional plans.
Periodically assess programs to ensure continued relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with participant goals.
Data Collection & Documentation
Complete data collection forms, progress reports, and communication logs accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor participant progress and adjust instruction based on data analysis.
Meet programmatic goals and deadlines as established by the supervisor.
Collaboration & Communication
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and supervision sessions as required.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Meet periodically with parents and community partners to review programming and provide updates on participant progress.
Encourage family involvement and support skill generalization across settings.
Inform supervisors and relevant staff of concerns, emerging needs, trends, or barriers to progress.
Professional Responsibilities
Participate in required training and ongoing professional development.
Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Understand and implement proper fiscal controls related to program expenses.
Maintain professional, ethical, and organizational standards in accordance with ABA best practices.
Qualifications
Training or certification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA, or equivalent preferred).
Experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with diverse learning needs.
Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional growth.
