Salary Range: $58,000 – $68,000 per year (commensurate with experience and education)

Job summary:
The SOCC Coordinator plays a critical role within SkyCare’s System Operations Control Centre (SOCC), supporting the safe, efficient, and timely coordination of all aircraft movements across SkyCare’s bases. Working closely with Operations and Charter Coordinators, this position acts as central communication hub between flight crews, operations management, and external partners to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced aviation environment, demonstrate strong multitasking and analytical skills, and maintain exceptional attention to detail to uphold SkyCare’s standards of safety, service, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Perform flight following and maintain situational awareness of all aircraft movements in real time.
Update and manage data within the airline management software, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance.
Modify flight routings, dispatch crews, and coordinate directly with Ornge, ATC, and other stakeholders as required.
Support both short-term and long-term operational planning in collaboration with Flight Followers and the Operations Manager.
Ensure all relevant and updated information is communicated promptly to Flight Crews, Chief Pilots, and Base Engineers.
Enter and verify data from Operational Flight Plans (OFPs) and Journey Logbooks to maintain accurate flight crew time records.
Track and reconcile operational data, ensuring timely and error-free reporting for internal and regulatory requirements.
Assist in creating and processing flight quotes, customs documentation, and operational manifests as needed.
Provide professional, responsive support to clients and passengers when assisting with charter or medevac coordination.
Collaborate across departments to ensure customer expectations and service commitments are consistently met.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, flight crews, and external agencies to support overall operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; post-secondary education in aviation operations, logistics, or business administration considered an asset.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in operations, dispatch, or flight coordination within aviation or a related transportation field.
Experience with Airline Management or Flight Following Software considered a strong asset.
Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check).
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to Sioux Lookout, ON.
Ability to travel periodically to other SkyCare bases (Thunder Bay, St. Andrews, Kitchener).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Sound understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and flight operational procedures.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills; able to assess information quickly and make sound operational judgments.
Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfortable with digital systems.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management under shifting priorities.
Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and teamwork, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure in a real-time operational setting.
