Job description

**Key Responsibilities**

• To cut meat in compliance with the store’s cutting
• To receive meat and check invoices ensuring quantity is accurate
• To store meat on trays in an orderly fashion in preparation for wrapping
• To wrap and price meat on trays as required
• To clean work areas
• To follow the store safety procedures at all times
• To respond to any customer inquiries or requests maintaining courteous customer relations at all times.

• *Requirements**
• **Experience would be considered an assest**:

• Able to stand for length of the shift (up to 8 hours).
• Able to lift up to 75
• Available to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
• Able to work in cooler environment
• Demonstrated commitment to customer and employee relations

Full job description

Duties

• Prepare meat according to customer preferences and specifications
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selection and answering any questions they may have
• Package and label meat products for display and sale
• Ensure proper food safety and handling procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sanitizing equipment and utensils
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate “flyer sales” and ensure enough product is prepared in advance for retail sales

Skills

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in meat cutting
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers
• Proficient in packaging and labeling meat products for display
• Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
• Experience working as a butcher or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork and communication skills. with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff
