Body Technician

CARSTAR is seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for repairing damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition using advanced tools and techniques, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Salary: Flat Rate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform collision repairs in accordance with Repair Orders and CARSTAR’s Advanced Process Solutions (APS).
  • Make “repair or replace” decisions based on safety, cost, and turnaround time.
  • Dismantle vehicles and remove necessary parts to access damaged areas.
  • Complete structural, sheet metal, and some mechanical repairs.
  • Carry out various welding and metal finishing tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with Production Managers and Estimators.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics for efficiency, cycle time, and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
  • Participate in daily release meetings and complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of auto body collision repair experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 310B Collision Technician Certification required.
  • I-CAR certification or ASE training is a strong asset.
  • Proficient in using frame straightening and measuring equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, and squatting.
  • Performing repetitive motions
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.
