George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is a paediatric health facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario providing occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, social work, recreation, and behaviour support services to children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs. Our staff is committed to providing high quality and compassionate servicers that honour the unique experiences of each and every individual we serve.

Temporary (to September 25, 2027), full-time (35 hours/week), 1-position available

George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is seeking a social worker to work with our multi-disciplinary team, providing services to children and youth and their families. Responsibilities include service coordination, education, advocacy, intervention and on-going social work support. Occasional travel within the City and District of Thunder Bay may be required.

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
• Hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a recognized and accredited university
• Be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
• Knowledge of and experience in the paediatric service sector
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of an inter-disciplinary team
• Ability to collaborate with service partners, families and caregivers and other stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to develop strong working relationships, partnerships and alliances with a range of stakeholders
• Compassionate and trustworthy character
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Awareness and experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities is considered an asset.
• Bilingualism English/French is considered an asset.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle.
