Job Title: General Labourer
Hours: 20 hours per week in the Summer Season with potential for more hours – full time hours in the Winter (busiest season)
Rate of pay: $18-$20/hour
Duties:
- Help load or unload trucks of livestock (cows, horses, goats, sheep, pigs)
- Make sure to clean bedding areas and replace with new straw, replenish water and food for the next arrival
- Help with fixing gates and fences
- Lifting bale of hay/straw
Requirements:
- Drivers license and reliable vehicle to get to and from work (no public transportation available)
- Shifts start as early as 7am , the business operates 24/7 so need to be able to work days, evenings and weekends on a rotation
- Farming background or familiarity with being around livestock ( not necessary, but helpful)
- Need to be comfortable with animals
- Work in all types of weather
- Be able to deal with livestock in a humane way
- Understanding of health & safety, ability work in a safely and timely manner at all times
