Produce Supervisor (NOC 62010)

Fresh Market Foods is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Produce Supervisor (NOC 62010). In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Produce department, supervise team members, ensure exceptional customer service, maintain high standards of product quality and food safety, and support inventory control and merchandising activities. Job Duties:

• Lead and supervise staff, assigning daily tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching for continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory by ordering products, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring product quality.
• Oversee the creation of engaging product displays aligned with weekly and monthly sales goals.
• Uphold the store’s visual standards by maintaining clean, organized displays and ensuring accurate signage.
• Review incoming orders for accuracy, correct pricing, and proper documentation.
• Perform quality checks throughout the shift to ensure damaged, expired, and poor-quality products are removed from shelves. Follow up with clerks who missed on quality to ensure they understand standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the whole department, including front display areas, salad wall, cooler, cutting room, produce hallway, and back-room area.
• Collaborate with File Maintenance to input new products into the system and ensure accurate sale tags are available.
• Engage with customers, answering inquiries and identifying potential new products based on feedback.
• Address and resolve customer concerns, ensuring a positive experience and swift issue resolution.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are being followed and staff are working in a responsible manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail, or a related field is an asset.
• 1 year of supervisory or lead-hand experience in a retail preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team.
• Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining strong customer service standards.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.
• Forklift certification, First Aid, and Safe Food Handling certification considered assets.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer to move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).

Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
