Grocery Clerk (NOC 65102)

Responsibilities:

• Serve customers, respond to inquiries, and provide carry-out service when required.
• Stock shelves and maintain displays with dry goods, dairy, and refrigerated products, ensuring proper product rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department, including dusting shelves, cleaning spills, and checking product expiry dates.
• Perform daily floor inspections and maintain sweep logs.
• Break down pallets and transport stock from the warehouse to the sales floor for restocking.
• Assist in receiving and organizing incoming merchandise.
• Collect shopping carts and maintain cleanliness of the front entrance area.
• Perform general store maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.
• Forklift/power jack training and Smart Serve certification are assets.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $17.20 -$19.00 per hour(depending on experience)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc).

Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
