Full-Time Cook (NOC 63200)

As a Cook, you will prepare a variety of foods as ordered and assist with catering orders. You will also support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations as well as play an important role in providing customers with fast and friendly service.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of foods
  • Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Following safe food handling guidelines and completing temperature log checks
  • Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answering customer questions and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Assisting with training, supervising, coordinating, and scheduling staff activities
  • Reviewing the accuracy of staff work and providing additional training and support as needed
  • Operating a till, accepting payments, and providing receipts
  • Stocking shelves, rotating products, and assisting in completing orders
  • Ensuring the visual standards and cleanliness of the store
  • Performing end-of-day cash reconciliation
  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Positions: 1

Wage/Salary: $18.00- $21.00 per/hour (depending on experience)

Benefits: After completing the 3 month probationary period, employees are eligible to sign up for our Medical & Dental Benefits and Long Term Disability. Additionally, non-probationary employees will be eligible to participate in our RRSP program.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language of Work: English, French (an asset but not a requirement)

Work Experience: 1 year experience working in a retail setting

Closing Date: January 30, 2025

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will pay for the one-time round-trip transportation costs of the successful candidate to our location and back to the successful candidates permanent residence at the end of the applicable work period.
