Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team.  The city of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Director – Innovation and Modernization Programs you will be responsible for driving Dryden Fibre Canada’s energy management program. This program will improve the energy performance of mill operations using best practices in energy management, including through the implementation of capital projects and operational and maintenance improvements. This role will heavily collaborate with the maintenance and engineering team, operational team, technical services team, as well as support functions, such as procurement, IT, environment, and finance.

More specifically, you will:

Complete an Energy Management Assessment, relevant reporting requirements, and work with IESO and their representatives to ensure program and incentive compliance.
Create and manage a team focused on energy management, improvements, and savings.
Maintain a database that monitors energy consumption and an electrical load inventory of major equipment.
Develop KPIs to track and support energy performance improvements and ensure measurement and verification of improvements.
Review, assess, and identify energy performance improvement opportunities on all systems.
Review control systems, operations and maintenance practices and work collaboratively to develop new practices and programs to enhance energy efficiency.
Develop, prioritize, and implement strategic initiatives and long-term future energy savings projects.
Coordinate the implementation of energy efficiency projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling for the design, installation, commissioning, and verification of such projects.
Support progress towards ISO 50001 certification and/or readiness
Foster a sustainable energy management culture and promote employee awareness of the program and improvements.
Your Profile:

Professional certification or education in Engineering and/or Data Analysis.
§  Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Business Energy Professional or Certified Measurement & Verification Personnel designation would be an asset.

§  Successful completion of the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) examination required by the end of the first year.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in energy systems management.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to complete detailed calculations.
Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
A safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Strong communication skills, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
