CARREL+Partners Law Firm requires a LAW CLERK – FULL TIME. The primary area is Corporate Law.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing administrative support to lawyers on their files, including but not limited to  communicating with clients and other lawyers, scheduling appointments, coordinating payment of funds, maintaining physical and digital file document systems, and invoicing clients. The corporate law clerk role is also responsible for maintaining client corporate minute-books, completing corporate filings with the Ontario Business Registry, and assisting with corporate transactions.

Upon completion of on-the-job training, the candidate is expected to have a high degree of independence in running the file, always subject to lawyer supervision and guidance.

HOURS: Monday to Friday, Full-Time; typically 9-5 with some variability to accommodate peak periods
REQUIREMENTS

  • High degree of professionalism in manner. You will be dealing with clients on a regular basis, both in person and on the phone.
  • Technologically literate.
  • Well-written.
  • Comfortable dealing directly with clients on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box, problem-solve, and create efficiencies in established routines.
  • Highly organized (in both paper and digital), and logical.
  • Intermediate (or better) skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience working in a less-paper or paper-less office environment.
  • Experience with any of Worldox, Fast Company, ACL or similar programs.
  • Experience with document generation programs and/or client databases.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
