Kitchen Logistics & Food Service Supervisor

Position Summary
We are seeking a Food Service Supervisor to support our commercial kitchen operations, overseeing staff, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless service delivery to institutional, wholesale, and retail customers. The successful candidate will play a key role in inventory control, supplier/customer coordination, and operational supervision, while working closely with the Head Chef to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Supervision & Scheduling
o Supervise, coordinate, and schedule kitchen and food service staff.
o Train and mentor employees in food handling, safety procedures, and customer service.
o Monitor staff performance and ensure compliance with workplace policies.
Operational Logistics & Customer Coordination
o Coordinate supply chain activities including receiving, storage, and distribution of food products.
o Interface with institutional, wholesale, and retail customers to confirm orders, resolve service issues, and ensure satisfaction.
o Support the Head Chef in planning daily operations and ensuring smooth kitchen workflow.
Inventory & Quality Control
o Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee stock rotation, and minimize waste.
o Ensure food and supplies meet quality and safety standards.
o Assist in preparing reports related to sales, inventory, and service performance.
Food Safety & Compliance
o Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards.
o Implement and monitor procedures to meet HACCP, health inspection, and internal safety requirements.
Hands-On Operational Support
o Assist staff with food preparation, packaging, and service during peak demand.
o Support the logistics of institutional/wholesale deliveries and retail product flow.
o Be capable of frequently lifting up to 50 lbs to support shipping, receiving, and kitchen operations.
Qualifications
•   Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience in food service, hospitality, or related fields (experience in grocery, restaurant, or food distribution settings strongly considered).
•   Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to manage a team.
•   Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
•   Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience handling wholesale/retail client relations.
•   Must be able to work in a remote community environment, requiring adaptability and hands-on involvement.
