Produce Clerk (NOC 65102)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and assemble ready-to-eat items such as parfaits and stir-fry mixes.
• Stock and rotate produce items in displays, coolers, and storage areas, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including back rooms and display areas.
• Conduct quality checks, remove damaged or expired products, and assist with packing customer orders.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers and responding to inquiries in person and over the phone.
•  Always follow proper food safety and handling procedures.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up displays and cleaning equipment.
• Track and communicate daily waste and product levels to the production team.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as required.

Qualifications: 

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in retail, food handling, or produce is an asset.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and freshness.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $17.20 -$21.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).

Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
