Funded through the Youth Tech Impact Program , this individual on a 15 week contract will help to modernize our small business and how it connects with our customers using AI and digital tools. You will lead a couple of projects in social listening, AI-powered content, interactive integration with the website and smart customer support.

To stave off any confusion, you will be reporting to someone at our office in Fort Frances, and working at the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre in Thunder Bay. Given this arrangement, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Teams in essential.

Compensation: $18 per hour and a $1,000 bonus upon completion of the contract

Key Responsibilities:

First and foremost, help teach our customer service outreach’s large language model to speak to our customers after hours in a more useful way. In essence, teach our chat bot to interact with customers meaningfully as most prefer the pre-existing personal methods we use. We currently use a software called Chekkit.

Research and propose the best social media platforms that we should target for the next generation and shifting dynamics of the northern population.

Lastly, but importantly, develop some standard operating procedures based on your findings that can help train our people to use the programs effectively. We currently use Scribe to create SOPs.

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Office, specifically Teams
  • Previous experience with research and teaching AI models
  • Experience with media – Meta and related
  • Experience with teaching/programming chatbots would be helpful, but can likely be learned
