Baker (NOC 63202)

Fresh Market Foods is seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker (NOC 63202) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh, high-quality baked goods made in-store daily. Responsibilities:

• Prepare doughs and batters for bread, buns, pastries, cookies, and cakes following standardized recipes.
• Bake a variety of products, including signature breads and seasonal baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Frost, decorate, and finish cakes and pastries according to company standards and customer requests.
• Follow daily production schedules to ensure adequate product availability while minimizing waste.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock (FIFO), and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
• Assist with merchandising, displays, and product promotions to support sales initiatives.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations.
• Always Adhere to food safety standards and safe food handling practices.
• Support team members and perform additional bakery or store duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of baking experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
• Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer to move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).

Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
