Child Care Program Assistant (Summer Position)

Little George’s Child Care Centre is currently seeking a responsible, creative, and energetic youth to fill the position of Child Care Program Assistant! Working with our team of registered early childhood educators, this is an exciting summer employment opportunity for anyone interested in the field of early childhood education.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Work collaboratively with educators to support and enhance services and programs within the child care centre.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all children in our care.
• Encourage socialization and enhance learning.
• Assist educators with daily activities and special outings.
• Provide assistance with materials and resources.

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Must be between 15 and 30-years of age.
• Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Hold a valid Social Insurance Number at start of employment.
• Have an interest in pursuing a career related to early childhood education or development.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have demonstrated creativity and a passion for working with children.
• Previous experience planning and facilitating activities for groups of children is an asset.
• Previous experience working with children with special needs is an asset.
• Candidates may be required to submit a police record check; vulnerable sector screening.
