Temporary Warehouse Technician

Position Description:
Ensure the efficient operation of all warehouse activities in both surface and underground warehouse environments. Ensure the warehouses are well organized, functional, and goods are safely and easily accessible. All activities must be conducted in conformance with company policies and procedures, including cultural, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:
•  Maintain warehouse housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, injury-free workplace.
• Provide efficient, timely services to customers and departments, meeting business needs.
• Collaborate with the Inventory Analyst and Environment Department to establish and monitor procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Unload, receive, store, and deliver materials and equipment safely and without damage.
• Inspect all deliveries and verify accuracy against shipping documents; identify and address shortages, overages, damage, or incorrect items.
• Prepare and manage stock returns to suppliers as needed.
• Complete and approve documentation for all materials and equipment leaving the site; inspect and document outgoing goods.
• Organize inventory to ensure it is safe, accessible, and easy to locate.
• Perform inventory counts, verify stock levels, and maintain accurate records.
• Investigate stock variances and report findings to the Inventory Analyst.
• Communicate effectively with customers and departments, supporting business objectives.
• Comply with Mining Safety and Health regulations and Loss Prevention procedures.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all corporate information.
• Perform duties in both surface and underground warehouse environments, including day and night shifts, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Experience in warehousing, material handling, and shipping, including dangerous goods preferred.
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Dangerous Goods training preferred.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
• Familiarity with computerized material management systems, including SAP preferred.
• Strong skills in risk awareness, hazard identification, and elimination required.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external contacts required.
• Ability to work independently in a demanding environment required.
• Willingness to work rotational day and night shifts required.
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including surface and underground warehouses, external laydowns, adverse conditions, and heavy equipment zones required.
• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs required.

This is a residential position operating on a 7/7 rotation schedule, working 12-hour day and night shifts in the surface and underground. The successful candidate must reside within commuting distance of the mine site – a local travel allowance is provided.
