Workplace Innovation Specialist (NOHFC Funded – 1 year contract)

What you’ll do:
- HRIS Migration: Move records, administrative processes, and performance tracking into cloud systems.
- Policy & Standards Modernization: Update workplace guidelines and HR policies to meet best practices
- Change Management: Roll out new tools with clear communication and staff support.
- Employee Engagement & Wellness: Build digital approaches to reduce fatigue and support mental health.
- Talent Acquisition Optimization: Improve recruitment/onboarding and provide HR analytics for leadership.
What we’re looking for:
- Post-secondary education in Information Systems, Business Technology, HRIS/People Analytics.
Strong, hands-on systems skills (cloud tools, advanced spreadsheets/data, quick with new software).
Experience digitizing/streamlining processes and supporting others to use new tools.
Clear communicator, detail-driven, and trusted with confidential info.
Meets the NOHFC Workforce Development Program requirements
Additional assets
Experience with/in workflow automation, change management projects,
Experience in non-profit organizations and or youth justice services

Candidate Criteria
Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.
