We are currently seeking a permanent full time Senior Technician role.
The Senior Technician will be primarily responsible for performing diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance work on generators. Additionally, the Senior Technician mentors and trains other Technicians. This role is also accountable for responding to service calls for complex repairs and be part of the on-call schedule.
The candidate will perform the following duties:
- Inspect generators and perform maintenance requirements outlined in CSA C282 Standard
- Perform diagnosis and repairs of generator and transfer switch equipment
- Review diagnostic recommendations and timelines with Technical Advisor
- Respond to emergency service calls for complex repairs
- Mentor and train other technicians, assisting with diagnostic assessments, if needed
- Accurately complete service work order forms and obtain signatures from clients
- Keep customers abreast of generator condition
- Submit service work information to Service Coordinator
- Maintain clean work environment, both in-house and on client sites
- Clean-up & set up of current day’s work
- Assist with ongoing shop work
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will also obtain the following qualifications & skills for the position:
- College Diploma or Trades School is an asset
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Mechanically inclined with strong electrical/mechanical skills
- Full understanding of the latest CSA C282 Standard
- Internal combustion certification
- Licensed mechanic is an asset
- Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) certification is an asset
- Hardworking & self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with multitasking skills
- Effective communication & listening skills
- Problem-solving with high attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Safety conscious with strong spatial awareness
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
