Job Summary:
Under the Supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the Youth Sports Assistants will be responsible for organizing evening recreation and youth sports activities throughout the fall and winter months.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work with young children and youth in the community.
• Develop programming that will target healthy and active living.
• Contribute to the planning of traditional sports, cultural events and gathers mandated of the Recreation department.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities
• Perform other duties as they arise.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications. The list of qualifications will be used to develop a screening tool. It is the responsibility of the candidate to communicate their expertise and experience in identified areas.

• Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
• Good organizational and conflict skills.
• Act as a role model and mentor for children.
• Willingness and ability to frequently perform active work in and outdoors, in any weather (rain or shine)
• Must have a fun, energetic, and outgoing personality.
• Required to work evening and weekend shifts.
