New Job Posting: Project Manager

Our Organization is looking for a driven individual to fill the role of a Project Manager at our Thunder Bay Location. We are looking for an energetic candidate who possesses a strong work ethic and has a high attention to detail. This position, which has spilt duties between the office and the field includes initial inspections of properties, communicating with the homeowner and all other invested parties, documenting the loss, generating the repair estimates and seeing the project through until completion.

To qualify for this role; Specific Candidate Criteria:

  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.

Experience:

  • Any practical field experience is an asset
  • Any practical field experience is an asset
  • Solid understanding of construction practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and construction detailing practices with great attention to detail & the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic –willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Outstanding time management, prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:
The Project Managers are directly responsible for the overall management of specific projects. Here are a list of shared duties:

  1. Organize inspections and communicate with client
  2. Ensure core documentation is complete for every project
  3. Ensure schedules are met and timelines are fulfilled
  • Prepare for estimates by gathering sub trade quotes, scoping the loss in precise detail, sketching the loss location on site and transferring to cloud based programs and gather all other related documents
  • Identify and collaborate labour , material, and time sheets as required to meet client
    specifications.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, engineers and city inspectors to discuss and formulate
    estimates and resolve issues
  • Maintain close support with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that estimates are accurate.
  • Review plans & specifications to determine scope of work and to define project
    requirements
  • Develop proposals from project estimates (scope, schedule, cost, team, execution
    plan)
  • Provide a construction driven, resource loaded project schedule to identify when each task will be performed
  • Effectively manage project scope and be accountable for project team performance
    and results
  • Track and report regularly on project progress

Job Details:
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Participate in On-Call Rotation
Job Type: One Year Contract through NOHFC – Potential for long term employment
Salary: $49,920.00 per year
Benefits: Available after 3 months of employment

Job Requirements:
Candidates shall have a valid driver’s license with a good driving abstract
Candidates shall have a clean criminal background check
Candidates shall meet the outlined requirements as outlined by NOHFC on page 1
Candidates must be able to work in a team environment
