                                       Position Title: Youth Multi Purpose Worker
                                                  Reporting to: Wellness Manager
                                                      Location: Sioux Lookout, ON

POSITION SUMMARY
The Independent First Nations Alliance is looking to hire a Youth Multi-Purpose Worker. The Multi- Purpose Worker is required to perform a range of duties under the supervision of the Secondary Student Services Program Wellness Lead, including but not limited to:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordination of all student appointments; Medical’s, Dental’s, Optical’s and other
• Development and delivery of student inhouse activities with Wellness Team
• Assist with Student Assessments and other
• Encourage and promote the cultural language and the practice that align with the values, beliefs, and traditions
• Work collaboratively as a member of the Education Services Team (Wellness, Education and Residence) to provide daily student support
• Model healthy and appropriate behavior
• Implementation of effective operational/administrative policies and procedures specific to the IFNA SSSP
• Maintain accurate student records, while ensuring the security of sensitive information
• Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and within a team
• Travel to IFNA communities as required
• Other duties assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• College diploma or equivalent experience and training
• Knowledge of Indigenous education issues, challenges and delivery models
• Familiarity with the developmental, educational, emotional, social and recreational needs of youth and families
• Experience operating recreational vehicles or willing to train
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to relate with students
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 suite
• Ability to work effectively as part of team with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to speak one of the local Indigenous dialects is an asset

Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to provide a criminal reference check, as well as a vulnerable sector check
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Valid G Driver’s License and willingness to provide Driver’s Abstract
• Pleasure Craft Operator Card and PAL certification or willing to obtain
• ASIST; Mental Health First Aid; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Standard First Aid certifications or willing to obtain
