Fresh Market Foods is seeking a dedicated and professional Support Deli Manager to assist in overseeing daily operations within our Deli Department. The ideal candidate will help lead a team of deli associates, ensuring that all production, customer service, and health and safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities:

  • Strategically oversee daily deli operations, optimizing workflow to maintain high standards in both hot and cold food preparation, order accuracy, and efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and manage flexible schedules to ensure optimal staff coverage, supervise deli associates, and provide ongoing coaching to promote skill development, teamwork, and alignment with standards.
  • Monitor inventory trends and track product movement, adjust orders based on demand forecasts, conduct monthly counts, and analyze supplier costs to make data-driven pricing adjustments.
  • Uphold strict quality standards by performing regular inspections of food, equipment, and facility cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food safety and company policies.
  • Lead health and safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with Canadian food safety regulations, and implement safe food handling practices to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Leverage Dayforce and Dayforce Wallet applications for efficient scheduling, payroll processing, and data analysis; train and support staff in using technology to streamline operations and enhance accountability.
  • Actively engage with customers, handle inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, manage returns, and provide product recommendations to ensure a consistently positive customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records by overseeing sweep log completion, recipe updates, and order accuracy; implement checklists and workflow improvements for streamlined operations.
  • Perform a range of deli tasks, as needed, including duties typical of Deli Clerk, Cook, and Supervisor roles, adapting to changing needs and supporting the team.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3-4 years of supervisory experience in a deli or food service environment, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Proficient in operations, including product knowledge, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations; Safe Food Handling certification is an asset.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, including weekends and holidays

Wage/Salary: Starting at $28.00 – $31.00 per/hour (depending on experience)
