SCOPE OF POSITION
Clearford is currently seeking to fill several Operator positions on our Remote Operations team.
As a member of the Operations team at one of our remote operations mining sites in the Yukon,
the Operator contributes to the successful operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment
System (WTS). Reporting to the Remote Operations Director, the Operator ensures that all
applicable legislation, regulations, approvals, orders and guidelines are adhered to; completes
sampling, documents and optimizes plant performance, and performs maintenance/repairs. The
Operator will perform their functions and responsibilities in a team environment, with support led
from the Remote Operations Director, who has access to all other divisions within Clearford as
required such as Engineering, Operations, Compliance & Optimization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (This is not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed)
• Perform and document all operational tasks and maintenance (preventative and
corrective) duties for the WTS (including; daily rounds, water quality sampling, in-house
testing, system monitoring, housekeeping, troubleshooting, adjustments);
• Communicate using strong oral and written communication skills to clearly describe
operational items to the Client, contractors and tradespeople, and the Clearford team
• May be required to prepare or assist in preparing daily and weekly reports for the Client,
when acting as the Lead Operator;
• Required to work shift work up to 12 hours per day, day shift or night shift, provide back
up when required;
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, approvals, orders, and
guidelines;
• Adjust, inspect and evaluate process performance and equipment in order to optimize
efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with established procedures;
• Operate, monitor, adjust and repair based on WTS, Programmable Logic Controllers
(PLCs), various digital and analog instrumentation and control systems, numerous
monitoring, reporting and communication systems;
• Work independently to troubleshoot numerous types of equipment malfunctions, complete
necessary repairs using Operations and Maintenance manuals, seek input from peers in
person, telephone or by using computer-based technology such as Teams, Skype, Zoom
etc.;
• Conduct chemical water quality sampling using hand-held and online monitoring
equipment, employing necessary Chains of Custody, proper bottles, packaging and
transportation to laboratory for analysis;
• Carry out process changes required to optimize treatment performance with guidance
from the Client and Clearford;
• Interpret Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs),
review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
• May be required to participate in the commissioning and de-commissioning of the WTS;
• Maintain logs and records pertaining to system performance and conditions in accordance
with established procedures and regulatory requirements;
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by using appropriate PPE and Health and
Safety training;
• Promote a positive working environment and put forward a professional approach with the
Clients, and establish and maintain relationships between Clearford and the Client;
• Other duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES
• Minimum 2 years of operating experience in Water/Wastewater or industrial treatment
facilities, preferably in a remote mine site setting;
• Certification in water or wastewater treatment from a province or territory considered a
strong asset;
• Training and certification in machinery such as: forklift, skid steer, telehandler considered
an asset;
• Good understanding of the latest technologies in the Water and Wastewater industry;
• Basic knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations;
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft software packages including: Microsoft 365,
Project and Teams, as well as web-based data entry systems for payroll and expenses;
• Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various types of tools;
• Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to develop
these on the job;
• Proactively, or by management request, maintain current training and pursue advanced
certification;
• A valid full driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.

WHAT WE OFFER
• The hourly rate for the role ranges from $37.00 to $45.00, commensurate with
qualifications and experience;

• Additional compensation included for travel days.

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
• The Operator will be required to work outside of regular business hours to facilitate the
operation and maintenance of the area;
• The Operator will work regular, rotating shift schedules;
• Frequent travel will be required to reach site location.
